Numerous studies have highlighted the significant pharmacological activities of lysicamine in combating and ameliorating various diseases. Nevertheless, a comprehensive compilation of the pharmacological properties of lysicamine has not yet been undertaken. Therefore, this review aimed to provide an extensive overview of the pharmacological applications of lysicamine derived from medicinal plants. Data were collected using several databases, including PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar. The findings indicated that lysicamine exhibited diverse pharmacological activities, including anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiprotozoal, anticancer, antihypertensive, and other notable effects. This study underscored the potential of lysicamine as a promising lead compound for drug discovery and development, emphasizing its therapeutic significance and the need for further exploration.
