Prof Patrick Omonua Erah - Professor ...TRANSITION

Patrick O Erah, Editor, Tropical Journal of Pharmaceutical Research

The passing of Professor Patrick Omonua Erah (1962 - 2025), who served as the Editor of Tropical Journal of Pharmaceutical Research (TJPR), on 28 March 2025, followed a tough battle, for over two years, with the illness that ultimately took his life. He was a co-founder of the journal in 2001 and has held the editorship position since its inception. He was a strong-willed personality with a tremendous capacity to hold on to a cause he firmly believed in.

We walked closely together for roughly three decades, including at various levels at the University of Benin, where we both pursued our academic careers in the years before and after the establishment of TJPR. His versatility, vast programming and ICT skills, and creativity facilitated the rapid rise of the journal to international status within a few years. Doubtless, his tenacity, commitment and results-oriented disposition in all situations were admired by many of those he interacted with. He will be greatly missed at TJPR.

On behalf of the Editorial Board and Publishers of TJPR, we extend our condolences to those Professor Patrick Erah left behind, particularly his widow, lovely son, aged mother, and dear siblings.

Adieu, Patrick!
