Augustine O Okhamafe has a BPharm degree (1^st Class Hons), University of Benin, Nigeria and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Technology from the University of Bradford, UK. A past Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Benin Benin City, Nigeria, he has also served as Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic, Ag.), and member of Governing Council of the University of Benin. He is a Fellow of both the West African Postgraduate College of Pharmacy and the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria. Professor Okhamafe is a winner of numerous awards, amongst which are the 1^st ECOWAS Heads of State Prize for Excellence in African Pharmacopoeia; 1^st May & Baker Prize for Excellence in Pharmaceutical Sciences. A widely published author, Professor Okhamafe has also participated in various cross-disciplinary and multinational research projects funded with grants from, amongst others, European Union, UNESCO, Raw Materials Research and Development Council, Nigeria, and National Science and Technology Fund.
